W.TEC will run a number of technology-facilitated and educational projects each year:
Networking for Success
The Networking for Success programme is a technology mentoring initiative which aims to encourage African women to become more active
users of technology. It does this primarily by introducing them to a variety of technology tools that they can use to become more efficient
in their work and promoting their interests.
The next offering of this programme will run from May to July 2008 and will target women who have a clear vision towards
improving social conditions and are working or volunteering with Nigerian NGOs, charitable organizations or community development programs.
These young women would recognize the benefits of working collaboratively using appropriate ICTs and are curious to learn more.
NEW! We are now accepting applications for the Networking
for Success programme. Find out more and apply for the programme.
Girls Technology Camp
This educational camp will take place within the months of June to August and is targeted at girls from JSS 2 and SSS 2. For one week,
the young women will live together and participate in technology classes, computer lab work, games and activities intended to foster
team and leadership qualities. Camp participants will also discuss social issues, especially those that affect young women. At the end of
the project, each participant will be expected to produce a project that will showcase how technology can be used to address a particular
social problem.
